A parent taps Ask a group, a shared iMessage goes out with Yes/No tap-links, and the first Yes locks in the ride for everyone. Here's what each side sees along the way.
Parent opens the practice event, scrolls to Ride coordination, taps + Assign next to Pick-up.
SportsCal asks whether to pick one person or ping a whole group. Parent taps Ask a group and picks a team.
SportsCal opens Messages pre-filled with the request. Two tap-links — Yes and No thanks — go out to the whole team at once.
The first parent to tap Yes gets the ride. SportsCal locks it in right away so no one else claims it by mistake.
Everyone else who taps Yes after sees a friendly "someone else got there first" page. No duplicate confirmations; nobody has to say no.
Back in the app the Pick-up slot shows the driver with quick Call and Text buttons. The pickup also shows up in Apple Calendar automatically.
Each Yes link is unique to the person who got it. When someone taps it, SportsCal locks the ride in for them right away — no one else can double-book by accident.
Every later tap sees a friendly "someone beat you to it" page. You get one notification — the confirmed driver — not one per response. Nobody in the group ends up as the awkward runner-up.
